Iranian Red Crescent Society's Clinic Resumes Work in Azerbaijan

The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS)’s medical center in the Azeri capital, Baku, resumed its activities on Monday for another five-year period.
The IRCS’s branch has been active in Baku for two decades and it resumed operation after receiving the necessary permissions from the Azeri Health Ministry.

The clinical center provides free hygiene and treatment services to the poor people and those displaced during the war (with Armenia).

The IRCS’s branch in Baku gives free treatment and hygiene as well as inexpensive services to over 30,000 Azeri people annually.

Iran has recently enhanced efforts to boost political, economic, security and cultural ties and cooperation with the regional and neighboring countries, specially the Central Asian states.

In October, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad traveled to Baku to attend the 12th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization. The summit was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.

The Iranian and Azeri presidents met on the sidelines of ECO Summit, where the two leaders underlined the need for rigid efforts to expand bilateral relations and widen mutual cooperation.
