What would Erdoğan seek in US?

936501_origTurkish government has worked to pave the way for a NATO intervention in Syria through sabotaging the political solution to Syrian crisis.
Turkish PM Erdogan, started his official meeting to the US, while his government has continued its sabotage of the political solution in Syria to attain his partisan interests.

While all countries supporting the armed opposition in Syria admit that the situation in Syria is complex and deems the overthrow of Assad unlikely, Turkey and Erdoğan have been adamant in their position. The US and Russia has worked to implement their agreed plan in Syria, and called countries for a joint meeting to discuss the issue.

Iran and Egypt have sought political solution in quartet committee framework, working to bring the position of countries like Saudi Arabia to their side; Qatari delegation soon will visit Tehran to negotiate the Syria, but Erdoğan still emphasizes that a no-flight zone should be created over Syria, and thus preparing the scene for a NATO intervention.

Erdoğan has claimed that Syria had crossed the US redlines by using chemical weapons. In interview to NBC, Erdoğan did not provide any evidence as to the time and place where and when Syria used chemicals, said that his government expected US accept more responsibility, and “we will discuss possible future plans to be done.”

Erdoğan’s remark in fact reverberate Obama’s statements which stressed that using chemicals was a US redline, precipitating a US direct military intervention.

Only Turkish intelligence had claims that Syria has used chemical weapons, while even the US officials could not confirm the claim.

Ankara forced Moaz al-Khatib the former Syrian National Coalition to resign when he proposed direct talks with Syrian government, to indicate that Turkish ‘redline’ was talking to Syria. All these facts indicate that Turkey, contrary to claims to humanitarian aid to Syria, has sought to extend its circle of influence to the expense of insecurity in other countries. Turkey’s naïve understanding of developments in Syria and of the fact that geopolitical position of Syria has made it different from Libya and Tunisia has brought Erdoğan’s government to a dead end.

Sabotage by the prime minister was intended to cover this misunderstanding in part of the Foreign Minister. Turkish daily Radikal wrote that Turkey has made many miscalculations on Syria, and Ankara has worked to decrease its costs far from actively playing its role.
