Tiger Forces liberate Sawwan Hill in northeast Homs

Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” (Al-Hamza Brigade) – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Liwaa Al-Fatemiyyoun (Afghani paramilitary) – imposed full control over Tal Sawwan in northeast Homs after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
The Tiger Forces and their allies were able to infiltrate ISIS’ defenses at Tal Sawwan after gaining the high ground in the Jabal Al-Sha’ar region of northeast Homs on Wednesday. This imperative hilltop overlooks the Al-Sha’ar Gas Field that was captured by the ISIS forces during their large-scale offensive early last week.
While the Syrian Armed Forces have reclaimed several hilltops in Jabal Al-Sha’ar, they have yet to bypass ISIS’ defenses at the Al-Sha’ar Gas Field. According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in Damascus City, the Tiger Forces lost a total of 5 soldiers during their liberation of Tal Sawwan on Wednesday evening.
