Hamas announced that discussions regarding the second phase of a ceasefire in Gaza set to commence early next week

The Hamas Movement anticipates the commencement of indirect negotiations with Israel concerning the second phase of the ongoing truce in Gaza.

The Hamas Movement anticipates that indirect talks with Israel regarding the second phase of the current ceasefire in Gaza will commence “early next week,” according to a statement made by Hamas official Taher al-Nunu on Friday.

Al-Nunu announced that the second phase of the ceasefire negotiations is anticipated to commence early next week, with mediators actively engaged in ongoing discussions regarding the issue.

Al-Nunu stated that the Movement has received assurances from mediators regarding the augmentation of tents, mobile homes, and the admission of heavy equipment into the Strip.

The Gaza Government Media Office has announced its vigilant monitoring of Israel’s activities, expressing anticipation for Israel’s compliance with its humanitarian obligations as outlined in the ceasefire agreement.

Salama Maarouf, head of the relevant office, issued a statement highlighting the dire humanitarian and living conditions faced by residents in the Gaza Strip due to what he described as a 15-month-long campaign of extermination and ethnic cleansing by occupying forces. He emphasized that the situation requires immediate action to provide essential shelter materials and other critical needs, including fuel, heavy equipment, medical devices, and infrastructure restoration supplies, without delay or procrastination.

Nearly 1.5 million individuals have been rendered homeless following the destruction of their homes, while the entire population of the Gaza Strip, totaling 2.4 million, faces a severe shortage of essential services and infrastructure, he stated.
