Hamas condemns killing Gazan fisherman by Egyptian army

Hamas Movement slammed the Egyptian forces for killing the Gazan fisherman, Abdullah Zeidan, 32, at dawn Saturday.

In a press statement, the resistance Movement extended its condolences to the family of martyr Zeidan and said that shooting him while sailing across Gaza Sea off the Egyptian-Palestinian borders was unjustified.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry, for its part, demanded that the Egyptian authorities open an urgent inquiry for the killing of the fisherman.

The Ministry asserted that its primary investigations showed that the Palestinian fishing boat did not exceed the Egyptian boundaries.

In an exclusive press statement to the PIC, the captain of Palestinian fishermen, Nezar Ayyash, announced that fishing in Gaza Sea will be temporally suspended on Sunday in protest at the killing of their fellow. He also called for halting the offensive practices against Palestinian fishermen.
