Hamas delegation attends UMNO’s annual congress in Malaysia

A delegation from the Hamas Movement led by its international relations director Osama Hamdan visited Malaysia at the invitation of the ruling party, the united Malay national organization (UMNO), to attend its annual congress.

During his meeting with the Hamas delegation, Malaysian premier Najib Abdul Razak expressed his support for Hamas, describing it as a movement of freedom fighters.

Abdul Razak pledged to facilitate the affairs of Palestinians residing in Malaysia, especially the university students.

The Hamas delegation also met with the Malaysian defense minister Ahmed Hamidi, former premiers Mahathir Mohamed and Abdullah Badawi and other senior officials.

The delegation also attended during its five-day visit some popular and official events and met with other delegations that were invited to the conference.

Hamas official Hamdan, who led the delegation, had the chance to give a keynote speech in the conference that was held under the title “conflict and peace in the policy of the nations.”

Hamdan emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to resist, defend their homeland and liberate it from the Israeli occupation.
He said the conflict with the Israeli occupation is different from the ones taking place in other countries because the one in Palestine is a replacement occupation aiming to expel a native people from their land and replace them with a foreign people.
