Iran to Reinvigorate Agricultural, Industrial Sector to Confront Enemies’ Pressures

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that his administration plans to focus more on agricultural and industrial development this year in a bid to foil enemy sanctions and restrictions.

Addressing a group of Iranian legislators here in Tehran on Tuesday evening, President Ahmadinejad pointed to the Supreme Leader’s initiative to name this Iranian year (started on March 20) as the “Year of National Production, Supporting Iranian Labor and Capital”, and said his administration is seeking to double its efforts and works in the agricultural and industrial sectors.

“These two sectors are among the most crucial priorities on the government’s agenda for the New Year,” Ahmadinejad stated.

Referring to the sanctions and restrictions imposed on Iran’s economy, and said that enemies of Iran “have mobilized all their power” to hit a blow to Iran.

The remarks by President Ahmadinejad came after The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei in an earlier meeting with the country’s officials on Tuesday evening called on executive, legislative and judiciary officials to devise the necessary plans to boost domestic products and strengthen the country’s economy as part of broader efforts to confront enemies’ pressures on Iran.

“The parliament and the government should take practical steps to support national production through sincere cooperation,” The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said, addressing Iran’s high-ranking officials on Tuesday.

The Supreme Leader noted that supporting national production is an urgent need because the enemies of Iran have focused on economic issues.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei noted that the global “arrogant front” has launched all-out efforts to increase economic pressures on Iran, but Iranian officials and youths, through their resolve and faith, will mobilize all their capacities and capabilities to bring another failure to the arrogant front.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated that unity and empathy in the country has been a major reason for the failure of the Islamic Republic’s enemies.
