‘PJAK surrenders, accepts Iran terms’

A senior Iranian commander says military operations against the PJAK terrorist group have forced the militants to accept Iran’s terms and withdraw from the country’s soil.

Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Abdullah Araqi said on Thursday that PJAK conceded defeat last week and pulled out of their main base, located in the Jasosan heights near Iran’s western city of Sardasht.

He added that PJAK has accepted to retreat one kilometer away from the Iranian border and to refrain from military activities on Iran’s soil and recruitment of Iranian nationals.

The senior IRGC commander also noted that Iranian forces killed 180 PJAK terrorists and wounded 300 others during the recent operations.

Brigadier General Araqi further pointed out that Iranian forces are now in full control of the Jasosan heights and are building bunkers in the area.

Delavar Ranjbarzadeh, a top IRGC commander, said that Iranian forces captured the main PJAK base in northern Iran.

The Iranian commander said that military equipment belonging to the terrorist group was also confiscated during the raid.

Members of the terrorist PJAK group regularly engage in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country’s western borders with Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

Both organizations launch their attacks from Iraq’s Qandil Mountains in the areas under the control of Kurdistan Regional Government.
