In a relevant development earlier on Monday, the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi repelled an attack by the ISIL terrorist group on the government troops’ military base in the Western part of al-Anbar province.

“The Iraqi army and volunteer forces managed to resist against the terrorists’ attack West of Ramadi,” Commander of al-Baraq Forces (affiliated to Hashd al-Shaabi) Vaseq al-Fartous told the Arabic-language al-Suemria news website.

The commander noted that the ISIL terrorists attacked the headquarters of a military base of the Iraqi Army’s First Division in al-Kilo region located 160 kilometers West of the city of al-Ramadi in al-Anbar province, but they were pushed back by the Iraqi army.

He said that the ISIL terrorists attacked the Iraqi army’s military base in al-Kilo region while driving in DshK-equipped military vehicles, but they were forced by the Iraqi army troops to withdraw after sustaining heavy material and human losses.

Also on Monday, Iraq’s joint military forces continued their advances in different parts of Nineveh province, inflicting heavy losses on the ISIL.

Meantime, the Iraqi Hezbollah Battalions hit the ISIL’s bomb-laden cars in the Western part of the city of Tal Afar, killing 30 terrorists and wounding many more.

A sum of five bomb-laden vehicles of the terrorists were also destroyed in Hezbollah Battalion’s offensive.
