Syria Stands Firmly against any Attempt to Thrust the Palestinians into Its Events :FM

Syria will stand firmly against any attempt to thrust the Palestinians into what is happening in Syria, an official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Wednesday.

In a statement to SANA on Wednesday,the source stressed that the path of Palestine and commitment to the unalienable rights, foremost the right to return, is the only path before the Palestinian refugees in Syria and in all of the places they have resorted to.

The source said that in recent days, armed terrorist groups escalated their attacks and acts of terrorism across Syria, including acts against the Palestinian people and particularly in their camps in Damascus and Daraa.

The source added that terrorists who seek to involve the people of the Palestinian camps killed many innocent Palestinians, starting in Aleppo when terrorists blew up a bus transporting Palestinians returning to the city, in addition to what happened in al-Yarmouk camp recently, including blowing up a civilian bus transporting women and children which led to the death of five and injuring of others, shelling the camp with Mortar rounds which wounded many locals, and destroying Syrian and international establishments that have been looking after the Palestinians since 1948.

The source affirmed that Syria has made clear its position regarding the disaster that affected the Palestinian people and made the Palestinian cause its compass for its policies and positions, never hesitating to make sacrifices to support the Palestinian people in acquiring their legitimate rights.

It highlighted that what Syria is facing now comes largely as a result of its stances in support of the Palestinian people’s struggle and in rejection of liquidating their cause.

The source called upon all the factions, organizations and leaderships of the Palestinian people to keep away from what is being plotted for them by the armed terrorist groups, “which have announced their engagement with the schemes that are hostile to the aspirations and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in service of the interest of Israel and its supporters.”

The source concluded by affirming that Syria will continue to carry out its duty of providing security and living conditions that guarantee dignity and safe living for the Palestinian people away from instigation and misdirection policies practiced by sides known for their animosity towards the Palestinian people’s cause.
