Homs: Nusra Bases Hit Hard in Syrian Armed Forces’ Attacks, Saudi Commanders Killed

 

Syrian Army troops and Air Force launched heavy airstrikes on the bases and positions of Al-Nusra Front (recently renamed to Fatah al-Sham Front) in Northern and Northwestern Homs, destroying several bases and killing a number of the Saudi commanders of the group.

The warplanes pounded Nusra’s positions in the towns and villages of al-Rastan, Talbseh, Deir Foul, al-Halaliyeh, hill of Abu al-Sanasel, Kafr Laha and Tibat al-Qarbi, destroying two command bases of Nusra and inflicting major damage on their vehicles.

Al-Nusra suffered a heavy death toll and a number of the group’s Saudi commanders were killed in the air raids.

The army soldiers meantime targeted al-Nusra Front’s gatherings and movements in Deir Foul, al-Rastan in Northern Homs, killing six terrorists and destroying several military vehicles.

On Tuesday, the army men stormed ISIL’s positions in Eastern Homs and took back the village of Abu Tawaleh Southeast of the airbase.

The army soldiers also managed to seize back Ba’ar al-Abu Tawaleh region after hours of non-stop battle with terrorists.

A military source said that the army also kicked off an operation against ISIL Southeast of T4 airbase towards the region of Mafraq al-Jahar and forced the terrorists to retreat in the early hours of clashes.

The source added that the army men were trying hard to capture the villages, heights and ponds Southeast of T4 airbase to further advance against terrorists in the Southern countryside of the town of Palmyra (Tadmur).
