Four Afghan civilian killed in killer US drone attack

At least four people have been killed in a US assassination drone strike in Afghanistan’s Wardak Province, Press TV reports.

Local sources said several other people were also injured in the attack, which was carried out on Sunday.

Many civilians have been killed in US-led operations across Afghanistan over the past months, and Afghans are outraged at the seemingly endless number of the attacks.

Washington claims the airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians are the main victims of the attacks.

On Saturday, 21 people were killed in US-led airstrikes carried out in the provinces of Kunar, Herat and Helmand.

The issue of civilian casualties in Afghanistan is highly sensitive and has been a major source of friction between Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the US government.

The US and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 as part of the so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity remains across the country.
