Hundreds of displaced civilians return home in Idlib after gov’t opens new crossing

Hundreds of displaced civilians returned to their homes in the eastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate on Friday after the Syrian government opened a crossing at the town of Abu Dhuhour.

According to a government report, at least 500 civilians returned their homes in the eastern part of Idlib, following the opening of the Abu Dhuhour crossing and the restoration of electricity and water to the area.

Furthermore, the government troops cleared all of the mines and IEDs that were left behind by the Islamist rebels inside their towns.

Another large batch of displaced civilians are expected to leave the Islamist-held parts of Idlib and return to their homes in the eastern part of the province in the coming days
