Imam Khamenei congratulates Iran soccer team on World Cup qualification

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei has congratulated the national Iranian football squad on their qualification for the FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“The victory of the national soccer team made the public, sport enthusiasts in particular, happy. I express my gratitude to those who created this feeling of happiness,” The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said in a message on Tuesday.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also congratulated the Iranian nation and athletes on the victory of the national football team against South Korea.
Ahmadinejad stated that the triumph once again attested to the capabilities of the Iranian youths and nation.
Also, president-elect Hassan Rohani extended his sincere felicitations to the Iranians, especially the sports community, on the victory.
On Tuesday, Iran secured its place at the FIFA 2014 World Cup after it registered a 1-0 victory against South Korea.
The 2014 tournament in Brazil will mark Iran’s fourth World Cup appearance.
