Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei appoints Gen. Karami as new IRGC ground forces cmdr.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader overseeing Iran's armed forces, has appointed Brigadier General Mohammad Karami as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ground forces.
Brigadier General Mohammad Karami has been appointed as the commander of the IRGC Ground Forces following an order from Ayatollah Khamenei on Thursday.
Karami is set to succeed Major General Mohammad Pakpour, who has now been appointed as the IRGC commander.
