Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei asserts that US committed significant miscalculations concerning Iran over the past several decades

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has stated that the United States has frequently erred in its approach to Iran over the past several decades.

During a meeting on Wednesday with residents of the north-central Iranian city of Qom, Ayatollah Khamenei delivered remarks commemorating the anniversary of the January 9, 1978, uprising. This event was in support of Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, and played a pivotal role leading up to the 1979 triumph of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

The Leader remarked that during the era of Iran’s former Pahlavi monarchy, the nation functioned as a robust stronghold for American interests.

Ayatollah Khamenei asserted that the revolution emerged and gained momentum from the very core of this stronghold, suggesting that Americans failed to grasp this development, were misled, and ultimately lost awareness.

The Leader characterized the situation as a “miscalculation by the Americans” in relation to Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei has remarked that since the Revolution, the United States has frequently made errors in its dealings with Iran over the past several decades.

The leader stated that his comments were largely directed at individuals who feel intimidated by the policies of the United States.

Ayatollah Khamenei downplayed the notion of a strong rapport between Iran and several European nations.

The Leader made a distinction between Iran’s relations with European nations and those with the United States.

The Leader remarked that the United States has incurred significant political and economic losses following Iran’s Revolution. Over the past four decades, considerable resources have been allocated by the US in efforts to extricate Iran from the influence of the Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei has asserted that the United States has been unsuccessful in its objectives, stating, “The US is seeking to compensate for its failure. As a result, it employs any form of hostility towards Iran that it can muster.”

Ayatollah Khamenei has stated that the United States harbors a “deep-seated enmity” towards Iran.

The Leader highlighted that the United States once exerted considerable influence over Iran, but the nation ultimately escaped its control. As a result, he suggested that Washington’s animosity towards the Islamic Republic and the Revolution has deep-rooted origins.

The United States, however, remains resolute in its stance. Following a setback in Iran, the nation is actively seeking avenues to compensate for the challenges faced there.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s statements addressed inquiries regarding Iran’s willingness to engage in diplomatic talks with European nations while remaining unwilling to enter into negotiations with the United States.

Analysts characterize the Islamic Revolution as a catalyst that advanced the global anti-colonial movement, portraying it as emblematic of the struggle for a fair and multipolar world order.
