Iranian envoy asserts that the future of Syria should be decided by the Syrian people themselves

Mohammad Reza Ra’ouf Sheibani, the Iranian Foreign Minister’s Special Representative for Syrian Affairs, has emphasized the importance of upholding Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He asserted that the future trajectory of the nation must be decided by its citizens.
During a video conference with Geir Pedersen, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria, Sheibani emphasized the importance of all parties involved in the Syrian conflict to avoid meddling in the nation’s internal matters.
In a recent meeting, the two representatives deliberated on the latest developments in Syria, particularly focusing on the recent Israeli military actions that have resulted in the occupation of additional Syrian territories. They issued a warning about the potential resurgence of terrorist activities and violent extremism within Syria, emphasizing the likely implications for regional stability.
