A group of Iranian protesters, including university students, gathered in front of Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Tehran on Saturday to condemn the deadly military strikes by Riyadh and its allies on Yemen.

The demonstrators called for an immediate end to the military campaign against Yemen.
They also urged the Iranian administration to take an active role in defending the people of Yemen.

The gathering took place as two weeks of relentless air strikes by the Saudis and its Arab allies have killed more than 800 people and injured more than 1,200 others in Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition, including military forces from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt on March 26 began to attack Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Meanwhile, a US official has revealed that Washington is expanding its intelligence-sharing with Saudi Arabia to provide more information about potential targets in the kingdom’s air campaign against Yemen.
“We have opened up the aperture a bit wider with what we are sharing with our Saudi partners,” Reuters quoted the US official as saying.
