The conference aims to review the trend of Islamic awakening in the regional countries and provide an arena for exchange of views between the world intellectuals.

The participants will discuss the nature of the ongoing developments as well as the likely effects of the regional uprisings on the international order.

Four panel discussions will also be held in the conference, each discussing one of the countries involved in the uprisings as a case study.

The intellectuals have come from Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Azerbaijan Republic, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, Bahrain and Qatar.

The conference has been co-organized by three Iranian bodies, namely Islamic Culture and Thought Research Center, Organization of Islamic Culture and Relations, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcast (IRIB).
