Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Making Headway in Idlib

The Syrian army made advances in Idlib after starting fresh attacks against the military positions and bases of the foreign-backed ISIL terrorists.
The residents of Idlib countryside in the Northern parts of Syria have been resisting against the terrorists’ attempts to gain control of their region for 21 days now and the army forces also made some advances in the city.

The Syrian army started a new round of military operations on Thursday to take back the city of Idlib.

The army units ushered in vast operations from Ariha Bridge and the town of Al-Mastoumeh and won the battles and took control over Kafr Najd, Nahlia and al-Moqbeleh districts.

The army’s operations started in the early hours of Thursday and the Syrian troops blocked all escape routes of the terrorists.

Also reports from Syria’s Yarmuk refugee camp which has been under attack by the Takfiri terrorists of the ISIL for the last several days said that different Palestinian groups, including the resistance group Hamas, forces are fighting against the terrorists beside the residents of the camp.

Also in the past 24 hours, militants of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group reportedly withdrew from the Northeastern Lebanese border town of Arsal.

The Takfiri group cut the number of its militants in the area to 200 and the rest have been moved to the Eastern Syrian city of Raqqa.

Also on Thursday, the Syrian army troops struck a heavy blow at the foreign-backed Takfiri militants in Quneitra.

The army foiled an attack by al-Nusra Front terrorists on al- Samadaniyeh al-Sharqiyeh village in the countryside of the Quneitra province.

The army clashed with al-Nusra Front terrorists who came from al-Ajraf village towards al-Samadaniyeh al-Sharqiyeh village, leaving scores of the terrorists dead or wounded, an informed source said.

The Syrian troops also killed many terrorists in a special operation in the villages of Rasm al-Shoula and al-Hamidiyeh in Western Quneitra. The terrorists’ arms and ammunition were destroyed.

More terrorists were also killed and others were injured during an operation that targeted their hideouts in Um Batina village in the Eastern countryside of the province.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis caused by the foreign-backed terrorist groups, specially the ISIL, since March 2011. The violence fuelled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 210,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, lost their lives in Syria last year.

Over 3.8 million Syrians have left their country since the beginning of the crisis. According to reports, more than seven million Syrians have become internally displaced.
