Iran army has taken delivery of a new advanced warship alongside several missile-launching vessels

In a significant enhancement to its maritime capabilities, the Naval Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has received a new ocean-going warship along with nine missile-launching speed vessels. The handover took place in the strategic Persian Gulf port city of Bandar Abbas, located in southern Iran.

During a ceremony on Thursday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Naval Force officially commissioned the warship Martyr Rais Ali Delvari, along with several other naval vessels.

In a statement made during the ceremony, Brigadier General Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Naval Force, announced that the newly acquired warship marks the fourth addition to the Shahid Soleimani class fleet.

According to the commander, the Rais Ali Delvari warship boasts dimensions of 67 meters in length and 20 meters in width. It is outfitted with an array of missiles capable of reaching distances up to 700 kilometers.

The stealth vessel, engineered for swift maneuverability, is proficient in navigating sea conditions of up to Force 3. Additionally, it boasts the capability to accommodate helicopters, according to his statement.

The commander announced that the ocean-going vessel stands as one of the most heavily fortified ships within the IRGC fleet, boasting the capability to carry speed boats. Furthermore, he noted that the vessel can be converted into a formidable battleship when integrated with speed boats and combat units.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, delivered a speech during the ceremony marking the handover of new vessels to the IRGC Naval Force.

The delivery marks the 16th consignment of vessels to the IRGC Naval Force, highlighting Iran’s ongoing efforts to enhance its defense capabilities. Despite facing sanctions and political pressure from what the commander referred to as “arrogant powers,” the nation continues to advance its military products, according to the senior official.

In light of the current global climate marked by numerous threats, Iran must assert itself with strength to ensure its rationale is recognized internationally, stated Salami. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests.

He stated that Iranian vessels must be equipped with strong defensive capabilities in international waters worldwide.
