The Islamic Republic of Iran won three silver and one bronze medals at the 21st International Biology Olympiad held in South Korea from July 11-18.
The international event brought together some 233 students from 60 countries.
Mohammad Hossein Moteallehi, Farhad Pishgar and Farnam Mohebbi are the Iranian students who bagged the silver medals and Mehdi Hakimi Nejad won the bronze.
The Iranian biology olympiad team returned home on Monday morning and warmly welcomed by the people at the International Imam Khomeini airport, in Tehran.
In the 20th IBO in Japan in 2009, the Islamic Republic of Iran winning one gold and three silver medals stood in fourth place.
