Iran condemns ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza, warning of severe and unforeseen repercussions

Iran has issued a strong condemnation regarding the ongoing Israeli actions against civilians in the Gaza Strip, criticizing the international community for its perceived inaction in response to these alleged atrocities.

In a statement released on Sunday, Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, cautioned about the potentially “dire and unforeseen” outcomes resulting from the continuous criminal activities and aggressive actions by the Israeli regime towards the Palestinian populace.

He expressed strong condemnation, stating that Israel’s ongoing actions against Palestinians constitute daily instances of what he described as criminal and brutal conduct.

The Iranian spokesperson stated that the Tel Aviv administration persists in its criminal activities, largely due to the international community’s silence and the inaction of human rights organizations. The spokesperson further noted that this environment of impunity is bolstered by ongoing U.S. support for the regime.

‘Controversial Strategy of the Apartheid Regime’

He highlighted that the recent tragic killings of numerous civilians in the Gaza town of Beit Lahia, along with the incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by extremist Israeli settlers, reveal a “coordinated and threatening strategy by the apartheid Zionist regime aimed at erasing the Palestinian national identity and targeting the sacred sites of the region.”

According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, a minimum of 87 Palestinians were reported either killed or missing following overnight and Sunday airstrikes by Israeli forces on Beit Lahia. The majority of the victims are reported to be women and children.

According to Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, Israeli military operations have targeted the facility, resulting in damage to its water storage units and electrical infrastructure.

In a contentious development, approximately 1,390 Israeli settlers entered the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied Old City of Jerusalem on Sunday. The entry was conducted under the escort of Israeli security forces, increasing tensions with Palestinian worshipers at the site.

Baghaei has called on the international community and Muslim nations to promptly implement decisive and deterrent measures to hold the “criminal leaders” of the Israeli regime accountable for their actions.

An Iranian diplomat has reiterated Tehran’s dedication to its ethical, Islamic, and legal obligations in backing the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian populace against occupation and apartheid.

Since October 7 of the previous year, Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of 42,603 individuals, with a significant proportion of the casualties comprising civilians.
