Major war games staged by the Iranian Army in international waters to the south of the country have culminated in massive naval parades involving a host of military equipment and tactics.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also arrived in the southern port city of Jask on Wednesday to review the parades, which are the last part of large-scale military drills code-named Mohammad Rasoulollah (Mohammad, the Messenger of God).

More than 100 surface and combat vessels, high-speed rocket launchers, subsurface vessels and units of the airborne division of the Iranian Navy took part in the parades.

The Iranian Army lunched the military exercises on December 25.

The joint maneuvers by the Iranian Army’s ground, naval, and air forces are logistically supported by Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base and cover an area of 2.2 million square kilometers stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz all the way to the 10th parallel north in the north of the Indian Ocean.

During the massive drills, Iran tested latest types of military equipment, including torpedoes, cruise missiles and drones.

Fighter jets, including the Sukhoi Su-24 fighter plane, Dassault Mirage fighter jet, and F-4 Phantom fighter jet were also used in the war games.

Iran has repeatedly said that its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
