Iran consulate rejects news of attack on Iranian bus in Syria

Iranian consulate office in Syria termed as baseless the news of attacks on a bus carrying a number of Iranians pilgrims.

Iran’s Consul Abdolmajid Kamjou said the validity of such news should be confirmed before being released.

Some press and media carried a story on Saturday about an alleged attack on an Iranian bus travelling in Syria.

Though the news claimed a number of Iranian pilgrims were aboard the bus, it was in fact carrying a number of Lebanese and Syrian pilgrims who were attacked by the gunmen on the joint border of Lebanon and Syria.

During that attack, seven pilgrims were killed and 21 were injured.
