Zionist regime, Turkey holding back channel talks to restore ties: Report

Israel and Turkey are holding back channel talks in Abu Dhabi in order to restore ties after the tense diplomatic situation following the Gaza protests in May, the Times of Israel reported today.

Citing the Yedioth Ahronoth daily, the Times of Israel reported that two private jets, one Israeli and one Turkish, traveled to Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning in order to begin back channel talks to restore diplomatic ties.

Neither government has confirmed these reports as of yet.

In May, Turkey expelled the Israeli ambassador and consul from Istanbul and recalled their own from Tel Aviv.

While Erdogan has often criticized and suspended ties with Israel, the Turkish president has been receptive to rapprochement with the Netanyahu regime in the past.
