Iran enhanced the precision targeting capabilities of its missiles through the integration of AI technology

Major General Hossein Salami, the Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), announced that the nation has enhanced the accuracy and precision of its missile systems through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday, organized to honor Iranian medical personnel who treated Hezbollah forces injured in the September 2024 electronic device (pager) explosion, he underscored the advancements made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the missile industry.

Major General Hossein Salami highlighted the unprecedented dedication, sacrifice, and professionalism demonstrated by Iranian medical personnel during a historic event, marking the first time such efforts have been seen in half a century.

He highlighted the global coronavirus pandemic, noting that Iranian doctors and medical personnel demonstrated remarkable bravery by putting themselves at risk during this challenging time.

The Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) highlighted that Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, consistently underscores the importance of ensuring no civilian casualties occur during the IRGC’s missile strikes on adversarial targets.

In 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei instructed that civilian lives must be preserved during a missile operation executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting Takfiri terrorist bases in Syria, according to a statement by a senior military official.

In a statement, Major General Salami compared the surge in pager usage to the deployment of weapons of mass destruction and accused the Zionist groups of engaging in psychological warfare tactics in Lebanon.

General Salami announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has successfully developed cutting-edge technology utilizing artificial intelligence to ensure precision in targeting, thereby minimizing the risk of collateral damage and safeguarding innocent lives.

On September 18, 2024, an alleged cyber-attack attributed to Israeli forces reportedly led to the explosion of pager devices in multiple locations across Lebanon. The incident resulted in several fatalities and left over 2,000 people injured.

Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was among those affected by the pager explosions in Beirut.
