Iran Expresses Optimism Over PKK’s Dissolution to Enhance Regional Stability
Iran has expressed approval regarding the disbandment of the Kurdish terrorist group.

The dissolution of the PKK is viewed as a significant move in repudiating violence and bolstering security, according to a statement from Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei. The spokesperson expressed hope that the culmination of this process would foster increased stability and peace within Turkey and the broader region.
The PKK, established in the late 1970s under the leadership of Abdullah Ocalan, declared on Monday the disbandment of its organization and the conclusion of its armed conflict against Turkey, marking an end to more than 40 years of hostilities.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the action, describing it as a significant step towards preserving peace and fostering unity within the nation.
The decision regarding the PKK received a warm welcome from high-ranking officials in Syria and Iraq, as well as endorsements from the European Union and the United Nations.
PJAK, an offshoot of the PKK established in 2004, has been actively engaged in operations targeting Iran for the last twenty years.
The organization has been designated as a terrorist group by Iran, Turkey, and the United States.
