Iran FM urges Lebanese nation, parties to stay vigilant

Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has called on the Lebanese nation and different factions in the country to exercise vigilance against enemy plots.

“The vigilance of the Lebanese leaders and officials, particularly those of Lebanon’s political parties, will foil the conspiracies of the enemies,” Salehi said on Friday.

He made the remarks in separate messages to Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour on the occasion of Lebanon’s “Liberation Day,” which celebrates Israeli military withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000 after 18 years of occupation.

In the messages, the Iranian foreign minister congratulated Hezbollah and the Lebanese government and nation on the event.

He noted that the glory of the Islamic resistance today is the heritage of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, and has come about under the guidance of the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

He described the victory of the Islamic resistance of Lebanon as a threshold of a ‘historical’ triumph.
