Iran Issues Warning to ‘israel’ Following Zionist Regime’s Strike on Yemen’s Main Airport

Iran has issued a warning regarding what it perceives as the unchecked actions of the Israeli regime, facilitated by American backing and a lack of intervention from the United Nations, which it claims allow for the targeting of regional populations through acts of violence and devastation.

On Wednesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei commented in response to airstrikes conducted by the regime targeting Sana’a International Airport, located in Yemen’s capital. The attacks led to the destruction of a passenger plane operated by Yemenia Airways.

The official condemned the assaults, highlighting them as further evidence of the regime’s brutality and its persistent animosity towards the Muslim population of Yemen and the wider region.

Baghaei underscored that the strikes, targeting Yemeni pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage season and hindering their journey to the sacred city of Mecca for religious observance, represented a grave crime.

He urged international organizations, with a particular emphasis on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to promptly tackle the issue at hand.

An official has declared that Israel’s actions, including attacks on key civilian infrastructures like airports and food warehouses, represent unequivocal war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Baghaei elaborated that the assaults on Yemen were indicative of a larger pattern of antagonism towards Muslim countries in the West Asia region. This pattern underscores the regime’s “inherent alienation” from the region’s populations and its efforts to propagate instability and conflict on both a regional and global scale.

He emphasized that the regime’s impunity, facilitated by the United Nations Security Council’s lack of action and the support from the United States, has acted as a destabilizing force that negatively impacts the international order and represents an unprecedented threat to global peace and security.

In response to the earlier assaults, a senior Yemeni official cautioned that the regime should brace for a “hot summer.”

Mahdi al-Mashat hinted at the possibility of the Yemeni Armed Forces intensifying their ongoing extensive operations against Israeli targets.

The chairman of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council stressed that Tel Aviv’s actions have only bolstered Sana’a’s determination to persist in its anti-Israeli initiatives.

Since October 2023, Yemeni armed forces have launched a series of strikes in retaliation against what they describe as an Israeli campaign of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has issued a condemnation of Israeli actions against Yemen, denouncing what it described as aggression.

In a statement, the movement emphasized that the airstrikes constituted a breach of international law and were facilitated by the full backing of the United States along with the international community’s silence.
