Iran makes heart bio-implants

Iran has launched the production line of cardiovascular bio-implants material seeking to save thousands of lives, the country’s minister of industries and mines says.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the tissue-cloning company based on the Persian Gulf island of Kish, Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian described the product as “strategic”.

Mehrabian added while the domestically-manufactured bio-implant product will address domestic needs, it will also be exported to other countries.

The top official underlined one kilogram of the product is worth the same amount of gold, explaining further that the export of the material would lead to significant financial turnover.

Mehrabian said the new development came as the technology for the bio-implant industry had previously been monopolized by a number of US companies, IRNA reported.
