Iran needs no foreign assistance

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran has joined the elite group of countries enjoying fast-paced development in science and technology.

“Some in the West have asserted Iran’s advancements in their various reports and have even admitted that Iran is developing and improving its economy with a fast pace,” said Ahmadinejad on Sunday.

Ahmadinejad, who was speaking at the inauguration of the Middle East’s biggest auto manufacturing factory in the city of Kashan, urged the Iranian nation to “believe in itself and its unique abilities in order to reach the pinnacle of progress.”

Without self-confidence, Ahmadinejad continued, the Iranian nation will have no hope, or momentum for advancement.

“Some countries like to scorn others in order to strip away their self-confidence and prevent them from furthering their developments,” he said, adding that Western pressure over Iran’s nuclear enrichment program is only a tactic to make Iranians feel insecure.

“Today the Iranian nation has showed the world that it has absolutely no need for foreign assistance, be it financial or political, and that it is well able to stand on its own feet and flourish regardless of economic sanctions and political pressure,” noted the Iranian President.
