Gaza government to respond Goldstone report

Palestinian sources reported that Gaza Government announced on Wednesday it would soon hand over its response to a UN report accusing Hamas of violating international laws during Zionist entity’s Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip last year.

The 52-page response to the UN report “We will be professional and in line with the international standard,” said Mohammed al-Ghoul, minister of justice of Gaza government.

The Gaza war report, conducted by a UN fact-finding mission led by South African judge Richard Goldstone, found that the Zionist entity has committed war crimes in its offensive which killed 1440 Palestinian civilians.

The UN General Assembly adopted the fact-finding report and gave the Zionist entity and Gaza Government until Feb. 5 to investigate.

Al-Ghoul said at a press conference that the government report specifying the measures resistance took following Goldstone’s recommendations will be handed over to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Gaza.

Zionist entity carried out a 22-day military Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip which ended in January 2009, in which around 1,440 people were killed, 5,000 others injured and thousands of homes and constructions destroyed.
