Ahmadinejad, Haniya talk on phone

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Prime Minister of the Gaza-based Palestinian government, Ismael Haniya on Thursday in a phone conversation underlined for deep relations between Iran and Palestine.

“President Ahmadinejad and Ismael Haniya discussed political developments and the Zionist plots against the holy al-Aqsa mosque,” Palestinian Information office said in a statement.

They also conferred about the Judaization of the holy Quds and occupation of the Palestinian territories, IRIB reported on Thursday.

President Ahmadinejad stressed on Iranian nation and government’s support to the oppressed Palestinian nation in all fields.

President Ahmadinejad also condemned the Zionist regime’s policies in the holy Quds and said,” Iranian nation will participate in the Quds day to declare their support to the Palestinian nation.”

The phone call came as Muslims are preparing to mark the International Qods Day.

Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution, designated last Friday of Ramadan as the “International Qods Day” in a sign of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

This year, Qods Day will fall on September 18 and rallies are expected across the world in support of Palestinians’ rights and against the illegal Israeli occupation.

Haniya for his part felicitated the beginning of holy month of Ramadan and reelection of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as Iranian president.
