Iran peace-loving country in Middle East: Uruguayan envoy

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Head of Iran-Uruguay Parliamentary Friendship Group Abderreza Azizi on Monday.

The Uruguayan official also hoped that promoting parliamentary relations would help forge further interaction on export and import between the two countries.

Michelini further noted that his country welcomes boosting commercial and economic exchanges between the two countries.

Azizi, for his part, said that economic, trade and cultural cooperation between Tehran and Montevideo is less than those of other South American states.

Economic and commercial interaction between the two countries will pave the way for promoting relations in various spheres, he said.

He also stated that Iran and Uruguay can take advantage of the existing opportunities in line with bolstering cooperation.

Uruguayan official was in Tehran to attend President Rouhani’s inauguration for his second term on August 5.

Rouhani was sworn in as the chief executive in the parliament of Iran attended by high-ranking officials from over 100 countries and international organizations.
