Iran produces 110 new research cell types

Iran’s Bank of Human and Animal Cells of National Center of Genetic and Biological Reservoirs has produced and presented 110 new categories of research cells registered with ID.

Seyyed Abol-Hassan Shahzadeh-Fazeli, Director of Iran’s National Center of Genetic and Biological Reservoirs said the bank aims at meeting research-based needs of the country, cutting its reliance on other countries and protecting local genetic reservoirs.

The categories belong to diseases such as cancer, human genetics, endangered local animals, types of fish and bird cells and dental pulp cells.
