Top Commander: ‘israel’s’ Joining CENTCOM Intolerable to Iran

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri cautioned the regional nations over normalizing relations with the Israeli regime, and stressed that Tehran will not bear the Zionist regime's participation in the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) activities in the region.

“The normalization of ties between a number of regional countries and the Zionist regime has posed threats to the West Asia,” Major General Baqeri said on Monday.

“Also, the Zionist regime’s joining the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) could create threats for us,” he stressed, adding, “But, we do not tolerate the presence of the Zionist regime.”

“We will not make any compromises regarding the rights of the Iranian nation and the security of our seas and lands,” the military chief emphasized.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Baqeri said, “Enemies are trying to compensate for the reduction of force in the Middle East by creating new units.”

“They endanger maritime security by dispatching small unmanned surveillance units,” the senior commander added, stressing, “But, the armed forces’ response to vessels wandering in open waters will be decisive.”

Maj. Gen. Baqeri stated Iran believed that freedom of navigation should be equally protected for everyone and it would defend the right for the Iranian nation.

“We announce via international channels and filing a suit in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that we wouldn’t tolerate such unites along our path and would do the same we previously did with such equipment,” he continued.

Iran has repeatedly warned that any mistake by the US and Israel will be met with Tehran’s crushing response. Iranian officials say Washington and Tel Aviv are well aware of Tehran’s capabilities and capacities, and caution that Tehran does not compromise or joke with its national security.

In August, several military officials warned the Israeli regime that any wrong move will trigger Iran’s rigid and tough response.

Spokesman of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said that the Israeli regime is in the worst security situation and under intense pressure, adding that Tel Aviv is unable to take any measures against Tehran and only resorts to saber-rattling.

“The Zionist regime is experiencing the worst security condition and is under intense pressure,” Brig. Gen. Sharif added.

He stated that the Zionists have repeatedly claimed that security prevails across the 27,000 square kilometers of occupied Palestinian territories that they control.

Commander of the IRGC Navy Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri also warned the neighboring states that the region will be engulfed in insecurity and instability if they provide the ground for the Israeli regime to find a foothold, and added peace can be achieved through cooperation among the regional nations and in absence of foreigners.

Rear Admiral Tangsiri underscored the importance of security in Iran and the neighboring countries, warning against allowing Israel and its Western allies to gain a foothold in the region.

“We warn any country that prepares the ground for intervention and presence of arrogant powers in the region and gives them a base, space and soil to form a military coalition against regional nations that firstly, they will pay the heaviest price for their unfriendly and provocative behavior and secondly, the stable and secure situation of the region will pay a price for that,” he underlined.

He stated that Iran has cordial relations with the neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf region based on the principle of Islamic unity, and noted that Tehran aims to improve sustainable security among all the countries in the region.

The senior commander noted the presence of the “child-killing Zionist regime” anywhere has always brought nothing but sedition, theft, and aggression.

Iran describes Israel as the root cause of the region’s instability, but also stresses Israel’s US-supported barbarity will not change the inevitable fate of the Tel Aviv regime.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underlined the necessity for the settlement of the crises and problems in the region through collective cooperation among the regional states, and underscored that the presence of foreigners is harmful.

Tehran has also urged the neighboring countries to be extremely vigilant about any US-Israeli plan that clearly aims to disturb the stability and order of the region.
