Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps Conducts Test Launch of Locally-Produced Rocket Armed with Thermobaric Warhead

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force successfully tested a rocket of their own design, equipped with an advanced navigation system. This rocket is capable of accurately targeting and hitting its intended destination. The test results were very positive and the rocket is now ready for use.

The Ground Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps successfully tested a domestically-manufactured rocket armed with a thermobaric warhead.

A thermobaric warhead has been added to the ‘Fajr-5’ rocket by experts from the Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization of the IRGC Ground Force.

The IRGC Ground Force units have already received the guided version of the 333 mm rocket, titled ‘Fajr-5C’, of the Fajr-5 series.

The Iranian rocket’s destructive power has been amplified by the new thermobaric warhead, which utilizes oxygen from the atmosphere to create a high-temperature eruption.

The new warhead is said to be 1.5 times more powerful than trinitrotoluene (TNT), extending the rocket’s blast radius and thermal effect. Furthermore, the thermobaric explosive is less sensitive than TNT, making it a safer alternative to conventional warheads.

The Fajr-5 rockets were thrust into the public eye after they were supplied to Palestinian resistance organizations. They were first seen during the 55-day conflict in 2012, when the Zionist regime assaulted the Gaza Strip.

At the time, reports emerged that the Hamas forces had successfully used Fajr rockets to overcome the Israeli regime’s Iron Dome air defense system.

Incredibly popular, the show was.

The Fajr-5 rocket, equipped with a new thermobaric warhead, would be an effective weapon in the fight against terrorist groups located in mountainous and impassable areas, where these groups have dug in, constructing shelters and trenches.

The Fajr-5 is renowned as the most sophisticated and farthest-reaching iteration of the Fajr series of ground-to-ground rockets, which have a range of classes with different applications.

A rocket with a diameter of 333 mm that is powered by solid fuel has two versions: a single-stage model with a range of 75 km and a two-stage model with a range of 180 km.
