Iran stated that the proliferation of terrorism across West Asia serves no country’s interests

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned the recent escalation of terrorist activities in northern Syria, asserting that the proliferation of insecurity in West Asia is detrimental to the interests of all countries in the region.

In a telephonic discussion held on Monday afternoon, Pezeshkian conveyed his remarks to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The emphasis is on establishing a secure region where the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all Muslim nations are upheld, fostering peaceful coexistence among countries in the region.

The Iranian President emphasized the critical need for regional leaders to take proactive measures in safeguarding the area’s security, cautioning against the possibility of external intervention.

Pezeshkian highlighted Israel’s involvement in propagating insecurity and terrorism throughout the Muslim world, asserting that the Zionist regime seeks to disrupt peace among Muslim nations.

This development underscores the imperative for the Muslim Ummah to resolve internal disparities and work towards achieving greater unity and cohesion.

The Iranian President commended Qatar for its mediating role in regional disputes, particularly highlighting its involvement in addressing tensions related to Israel’s actions in Gaza. He expressed optimism that Qatar would persist in its efforts to contribute towards the restoration of peace in the region.

Pezeshkian praised the strong relations between Tehran and Doha, as well as the agreements that have already been signed between the two neighboring countries.

An Iranian official has affirmed the nation’s commitment to executing the recently established accords, with a high-ranking economic delegation from Iran scheduled to visit Qatar. The delegation’s participation in a joint economic commission meeting aims to facilitate the prompt implementation of the agreements and explore opportunities for further cooperation.

The Emir of Qatar underscored his nation’s shared perspectives with Iran concerning regional matters, particularly focusing on Gaza and Lebanon. He also emphasized the pressing necessity to uphold Syria’s territorial integrity.

According to recent statements, there is a prevailing belief that the current situation in Syria underscores that peace and security can only be achieved through diplomatic efforts. As such, there is a readiness to actively contribute to fostering peace in Syria through a political agreement.
