Iran freest country in world in terms of holding elections

Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the freest country in the world in terms of holding elections.

According to IRNA, he said Iran is among rare countries whose president is elected directly by people.
He added elections in Iran are held freely and there is no limits on representation of political parties,.
He however criticized the high number of nominees for upcoming presidential election and said this should be revised.
He invited Basiji (voluntary) forces to play an active role in the upcoming presidential elections.
