Iran Successfully Hijacks Two Enemy Aircraft Simultaneously Near Its Airspace: Defense Official

The CEO of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) has stated that Iranian specialists have successfully utilized electronic warfare strategies to infiltrate three adversary aircrafts which were conducting reconnaissance operations within Iranian airspace.

Brigadier General Amir Rastegari, whose company is a state-owned subsidiary of Iran’s Ministry of Defense, told the Tasnim news agency on Monday that not long ago, a hostile aircraft had breached their flight information region (FIR) and begun emitting waves in order to collect information. As soon as they were aware, they confronted the plane. Believing there to be a technical issue with the aircraft, the enemy pilot contacted their command center and reported the issue, deciding to return. The communication is now in their possession.

In the field of aviation, a Flight Information Region (FIR) is an area of airspace in which both a Flight Information Service (FIS) and an Alerting Service (ALRS) are provided.

“We successfully disrupted the activities of two enemy aircraft who flew over the area in close proximity to each other the following day,” said Rastegari. “We were able to do this because we had already detected and uncovered their bandwidth.”

Once the two planes began their jamming, they quickly realized that Iranian ground systems were interfering. They then alerted their command center of the jamming system in the vicinity and their incapability to function in the region, the man added.

Rastegari emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces now have the capacity to jam hostile aircraft from hundreds of kilometers away at any given time.

An official from the Iranian Defense Ministry stated that for years Iran’s military technicians have been involved in electronic warfare to safeguard their airspace, stressing that any aircraft attempting to cross into Iranian skies is aware of their undeniable power.

Earlier this month, the Iranian Army’s Ground Force revealed their first domestically-made jammer drone. This drone is intended to disrupt the communication between enemy UAVs and the people controlling them.

On April 11, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi (the chief commander of the Iranian Army) was in attendance at a ceremony to inaugurate the Mohajer-6 jammer drone. This advanced drone is equipped with a sophisticated system that can broadcast disruptive radio signals. Senior commanders of the Army’s Ground Force were also present.

The United States Army’s Jammer Drone is the first Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to possess the ability to both execute and maintain electronic warfare and electronic offense operations against an adversary’s communication networks.

In recent years, Iranian military experts and engineers have achieved remarkable success in producing a wide range of homegrown equipment, thereby making the armed forces self-sufficient.

Iranian officials have consistently emphasized that the nation is prepared to bolster its military capabilities, among them its missile power, solely for defensive purposes, and that its defense power will never be open to negotiation.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has urged the Iranian people to preserve and further enhance their defensive might, strongly denouncing the adversaries who challenge Iran’s missile system.
