Syrian Army Inches Closer to Aleppo City’s Water Reservoirs

The Syrian Army troops continued their advances against ISIL in Eastern Aleppo, capturing more territories near the Assad Lake, Aleppo city’s main drinking water source.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL in Eastern Aleppo and managed to take control over the towns and farms of al-Qasra, al-Rashidiyeh, al-Fatehiyeh and Jubb al-Abyadh, inching closer to al-Khafseh, the nearest town to the Assad Lake, which is the main source of drinking water of Aleppo city and its outskirts.

Tens of ISIL terrorists were killed and two tanks, two bomb-laden vehicles and several military vehicles were destroyed in the attack.

A field source said that the army troops have deployed forces 13km away from al-Khafseh after the recent advances that included winning control over the villages of Qasr al-Hadleh, al-Attawiyeh and Abu Jadeh.

Also the army forces and their allies continue to push ISIL back from more territories in Eastern Aleppo after capturing 30 villages and towns in week-long operations in the region, including 18 on Saturday and Friday.

The Syrian soldiers continued to advance in East Aleppo after clashes with the ISIL terrorists on Friday and Saturday and regained control of Qasr Hadleh, Alafa, Nabatah Saqira, Nabatah Kabirah, Kharbat al-Zabit, Job Sultan, Jubb al-Homam, Sijan, Maqtalah, Tafri’ah Kabira, al-Lawa, al-Biraqdar, Halisiyeh, Amoudiyeh, Jaia’a, al-Safari, al-Attawiyeh and Abu Jadha Saqir villages and towns.
