Syrian PM Carrying Assad’s Message to Leader of Ummah Imam Khamenei

13920513000277_PhotoISyria’s Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi announced that President Bashar al-Assad has sent a message to the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oprpessed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The Syrian prime minister made the remarks in Damascus on Sunday morning before his departure to Tehran.

“I am carrying Syrian president’s message for Iran’s Supreme Leader,” the Persian service of the Iranian students news agency quoted al-Halqi as saying.

The Syrian premier did not elaborate on the content of the message.

Al-Halqi also submitted another message from Assad to Iran’s new president Hassan Rouhani today.

In his message to Rouhani, Assad laid emphasis on boosting the strategic relations between the two countries in all fields as well as the two sides’ joint will to confront the western and US plots in the region.

The Syrian prime minister is in Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani today.

Rouhani emerged victorious in Iran’s June 14 presidential election, which was marked by a high voter turnout. He won 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots counted.

The Interior Ministry put voter turnout at 72.7 percent.

The Iranian president-elect currently represents the Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oprpessed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the Supreme National Security Council and is also a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts. He is the president of the Expediency Council’s Center for Strategic Research as well.
