Iran warns of NATO ploy to loot Libya

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has again cautioned against enemy plots aimed at regional nations, reiterating that the prime objective of the West-led NATO attacks on Libya was to plunder the resources and assets of the North African country.

The West seeks to bring non-revolutionaries and unpopular figures to power in oil-rich Libya, said President Ahmadinejad in an address to an enthusiastic crowd of people in City of Birjand, located in the country’s eastern South Khorasan Province on Tuesday.

Western powers made efforts to dominate the Libyan people and plunder their assets through a piece of paper, issued by the discredited UN Security Council in the name of a resolution, said the Iranian chief executive, quoted in an IRNA report.

The president insisted that these powers are dead wrong in the [mis]calculations.

He emphasized that the US and its allies currently serve as the most detestable countries in the opinion of regional nations.

Today, hegemonic powers decided to use complicated political and military structures to ensure their dominance over nations through deceits and lies under the guise of providing support to people in their ways to achieve freedom and justice, said President Ahmadinejad.

The Iranian chief executive cautioned NATO leaders that regional nations are aware of deceitful plots and stressed that the era of colonialism has reached its end and will never return again.

He also urged NATO officials to stop their ‘inhumane’ acts and abandon military bases.

Regional nations are overtired of oppression and interference, President Ahmadinejad said.
