Iranian Commander: Islamic RepubIic of Iran’s Army to hold drill in Isfahan

Commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced the army’s plans for a military drill in the central province of Isfahan.

“The Beit al-Moqaddas drill will be held in Isfahan’s Nasrabad district,” the Iranian commander told reporters in Tehran on Monday.

Brigadier General Pourdastan added that the army forces would demonstrate their abilities and tactics in asymmetric warfare during the maneuvers.

The Iranian commander added that new weaponry, produced by the Defense Ministry, would also be tested during the maneuver.

On May 14, the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces began a three-day drill, codenamed Ja’far Tayyar, in Iran’s South Khorasan Province.

The Islamic Republic of Iran repeatedly assured that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
