Iranian DM Blames US for Insecurity, Chaos in Region

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami took the US interventionist policies responsible for insecurity and chaos in a number of regional states.

“The Americans have fomented insecurity, instability and chaos in the region with their ominous plots,” General Hatami said in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Khurram Dastgir Khan on the sidelines of the 7th Moscow conference on international security on Thursday.

He also lashed out at the interfering policies of the trans-regional states in the region, asking the regional states not to allow Washington to implement its plots against their interests.

Elsewhere in the meeting, General Hatami also underlined Pakistan’s special position in Iran’s foreign policy, stressing the need for the further broadening of defense and military relations between the two countries.

Iranian and Pakistani security officials in a meeting in January agreed to broaden border cooperation and joint patrolling against the outside interference.

The consensus was reached during a regular border meeting between the delegations of Iran and Pakistan at Taftan border.

Pakistan’s side was headed by Chagai Deputy Commissioner Imran Ibrahim Bangulzai, while Mirjaveh District Administrator Ibrahim Jannati represented the Iranian side.

The Iranian side informed the Pakistani hosts that the Zero Point Gate border check post at Taftan will reopen once fencing is complete.

It was agreed by the civil and paramilitary officials from both sides to enhance joint patrolling on Pak-Iran border to avoid any outside interference.

In the two-hour long meeting, border control measures, particularly curbing drugs and human trafficking, were discussed thoroughly.
