Iranian DM: Terrorists Taking Last Breaths in Syria

“The Syrian nation, government and Armed Forces and their friends, including Iran, Russia and Hezbollah, entered the scene (after the terrorists occupied most parts of the country) and suppressed the terrorists in coordination with each other,” General Hatami said in a meeting with Second Vice-Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) General Zhang Youxia in Beijing on Saturday.

He also lauded China for its effective support for the Syrian government on the international scene, and said, “Thanks God, today the terrorists have neared the stage of final defeat in Syria.”

During the meeting, the two officials also discussed ways to further develop military and defense cooperation between the two countries.

His remarks came after Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis stated that the Northwestern province of Idlib, the last major stronghold of the terrorists in the Arab country, would be soon under government control, pledging to win any possible war there.

“Idlib will soon be restored to the nation,” Khamis said on Thursday as a large-scale liberation operation against remaining terrorists in the province draws closer, adding that “Syria has prevailed and will win in any coming war”.

With the help of Iran, Russia and Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, the Syrian army is preparing for the Idlib operation, a strategically-important region which shares a border with Turkey and is also close to the coastal Lattakia Province.
