Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined that the Geneva agreement between Tehran and the world powers will increase collective cooperation in the region.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdulah bin Zayed in Dubai on Wednesday.

Stressing that the nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) is a great step in line with peace, stability and calm in the region, he said that the nuclear agreement will encourage collective and multilateral cooperation in the region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran favors maintaining stability, security, calm and moderation in the region, Zarif added.

The Iranian foreign minister said that consolidating ties and reliance on commonalities will help pave the way to narrow differences.

“We are after developing ties for the benefit of both nations,” he said.

On November 24, Iran and the five permanent United Nations Security Council members sealed a six-month accord to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the West’s decade-old dispute with Iran over its nuclear energy program.

In exchange for Tehran’s confidence-building bid to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, the Sextet of world powers agreed to lift some of the existing sanctions against Tehran.
