Bodies of Turkish pilots found at the bottom of the Mediterranean

The Turkish army command said in a statement on its website: “The bodies (of the two pilots) have been recovered in seabed and work is under way to bring them to surface.”

The statement maintained that the two-seater F-4 Phantom was shot in international airspace by Syrian fire, but that the wreckage of the downed fighter has not yet been spotted.
Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad said on Tuesday he regretted that his country’s defence forces shot down the jet, and proved that the plane was in Syrian airspace at the time of the shooting.

Ankara has also deployed anti-aircrafts and missile batteries to the border, after vowing a harsher response for future border violations by Syrian army.
On Wednesday President Assad told Turkey to stop meddling in his country’s affairs and accused Ankara of giving logistical backing to Syrian “terrorists”.
In an interview with the daily Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet, the Syrian president said: “Turkey’s desire to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs has put it in a position which unfortunately makes it a party to all the bloody activities.
“Turkey has supplied all logistic support to the terrorists who have killed our people.”
More than 16,500 people, mostly civilians have been killed in the violence and Turkey, once a strong ally in the region, has severed ties with Damascus and welcomed to its territory more than 35,000 Syrian refugees.

That force is being commanded from Turkey by colonel Riad Al-Assaad, who fled there with a large number of deserters.
Turkey has repeatedly denied that it allows attacks in Syria to be launched from its territory and insists it is not giving any support to the Free Syrian Army as alleged by Syria and reports in the foreign media.
The Syrian president further accused Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan of being motivated by “sectarian instincts.”
He also criticized Erdogan for letting NATO missile shield which claimed to protect Israel in Turkish Territories. He stated that the unrest provoked by Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia is the price for not saying yes to Western devil plots in the region.
