An Iranian parliamentary delegation has met with Egyptian Sheikh al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayeb, a senior sunni religious leader.
The meeting came on Tuesday, where the Sunni leader said, “al-Azhar (University) is deeply watching requests seeking to sow discord in Islamic Ummah.”
He expressed hope Iran-Arab countries relations would continue good neighboring and friendly relations.
According to Egyptian Sharq al-Awsat news agency, he vowed to study Iranian Parliament Speaker’s invitation to Iran.
An Iranian parliamentary board led by Naser Sudani met with Ahmed al-Tayeb at al-Azhar University to submit the invitation message of Iranian Parliament Speaker.
Ayatollah Mohmmad Ali Taskhiri, head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has also extended an invitation letter to the Grand Egyptian Sheikh to visit Tehran.
